The letters of Eckig are shaped like bent aluminium tubes at regular intervals. The idea was to make curves without using any "real" curve figure. Eckig's visual construction follows a rigid and accurate scheme of straight lines rotating with 22.5° increments, thus artificially rebuilding arcs. This specific structure becomes invisible when used in small sizes, ensuring good readability. German "eckig" stands for "angular".
