Founded by Alexander Aeschbach in 2008, idealphabet aims to bring cutting edge typography in the practice of every day graphic design with both a passion for modern design and a dedication to exploring new fields.

The name is a combination between the words "ideal" and "alphabet". This portmanteau word is a reflection of the ideas I put into my typefaces. My approach to type design is driven by observation in the way I try to integrate visual ideas into functional type. In fact my aim is to draw letters focusing on (french "mettre l'accent sur", litterally "put an accent on") some particularities as if type would become image. One can also see it as an "idea" of an "alphabet".

Presently, idealphabet fonts are available exlusively from this website.
